VEE and THE SONNETS bloggerama

Ok...where do i begin? These past two weeks have been something of a blur and very strange at times. I have been practicing and keeping sane in the heat and finding myself in new adventures. Wed. did nothing. I had two shows thursday with the Sonnets and LMDC, Sonnets sucked that night, LMDC sloppy but fun. Friday had two shows w Sonnets and Waxon7. Sonnets did good, Waxon ok, but sloppy. Had to sit through HORRID acid jam band dave matthews like funk trip hop poetry reading scat scratching rapping jazz odyssey...the worst! Baby Kage was fun though. Almost got into it w lincoln park morons.Saturday was Waxon with Fear City and Brand New Brand of Energy. So here we thought we were going tor redeem ourselves from yesterdays sloppiness and instead while we played, a mini scuffle, cops came and shut us down, took our singer's (Abe) I.D. and cited the band for Noise Disturbance. WHAT??? We were playing inside a music venue! Somehow the cops thought it great to give us a ticket for $1,000 and this is PHYLLIS' mind you. There was no way this was happening! So we were forced to leave and loadout and were told by chitowns most friendly "you are lucky its a saturday nite and that we dont have the manpower to inventory and confiscate all your equipment" or something like that...WOT? So of course everyones night was soured. My friends and i went to Foot, saw some old faces. Hung out a bit, had one drink, then went to dogsit and housesit some more. Spent the night, next day we all went to Horseshoe for awesome brunch, told story repeatedly to friends, etc. Picture in front of cop car was awesome! Hung out some more w friend, went to downtown, fell asleep on grassy knoll of millenium park, went to dunkin for some treats, left, took train home, met up w singer/wife, unloaded equipment, had ice cream cones and shakes and here i am. Oh yeah, there is the band with squad cars outside phyllis telling them wot we think of our nice new $1,000 citation. Thanx!
